A native of Marblehead Massachusetts, Gale received a BS with honors in Hotel and Restaurant Management with a minor in accounting at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, sometime during the last millennium. While there, she played sweeper on the UMass NCAA Women's Championship Soccer team.
In 1991 Gale joined the Northampton Brewery, and relocated to the New Hampshire seacoast to open and manage the Portsmouth Brewery. When not "counting beans" and harassing deadbeats, she enjoys throwing back the occasional cold one, skiing, and playing soccer for the Smutties of the Seacoast United Soccer Club.
Gale is married to John Merrigan. They have a daughter Abaigeal, and two sons, Zachariah and John.
