Do Good While Drinking Well

Beerlanthropy has been a cornerstone of Smuttynose’s business philosophy since we opened in 1994. Smuttynose is privileged to be a part of our tight-knit Seacoast New Hampshire and Maine community and we do our best to try to help some of the many great organizations and causes in our area and beyond. Our beerlanthropy takes three forms:

We only donate to registered 501(c) organizations and we’ll need proof of your tax-exempt status.

Beer Donations

Fundraising event planners often ask for beer donations, which we frequently grant at our discretion. Please fill out the donation form below in its entirety, keeping these parameters in mind.

Fund Raising

Each quarter, we post two non-profit organizations on the donation boxes in our tasting room and collect cash donations on their behalf. Typically, our staff nominates worthy organizations, but if you’ve got organizations that we should consider, please send us an email with all we need to know.

We are currently collecting donations for:

Cocheco Valley Humane Society, Dover NH

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of New Hampshire, Manchester, NH

Grant Awarding

Community Pint Day takes place every Wednesday at Hayseed Restaurant and each Tuesday at The Portsmouth Brewery. Customers get a wooden token for each pint they buy, that they then add to the glass jar of their choice. Each token is good for a 25¢ donation to the corresponding beneficiary. At the end of the quarter, funds are totaled and a check is sent out from our Beer and Skittles Fund at the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.

These are the current donation options for Community Pint Day.

Portsmouth BreweryAmy’s Treat – Dover, NH; New Hampshire Sustainable Energy Association – Concord, NH; Seacoast Area Teachers of Yoga in Action – Greenland, NH; Live and Let Live Farm – Chichester, NH

Hayseed: Amy’s Treat – Dover, NH; New Hampshire Sustainable Energy Association – Concord, NH

If this sounds good, fill out and submit the form below. If your request is granted, we will explain the next steps in your acceptance letter. It could take up to two weeks to process your request, so please sit tight. We will respond to your request.
