Roots Rhythm & Dub, an alternative reggae band, fuses traditional rock influences with a progressive reggae sound. Originally formed in 2006 by Kevin Kareckas and Josh Routhier-Fenton, the band found a full and consistent group in the Fall of 2012 in Portland, Maine. Their appeal draws from an eclectic musical background where each member contributes their own unique flavor. The group became under the direction of Routhier-Fenton who added current bass player and vocalist Josh Hunnefeld in 2008. 2010’s “B Side” and 2012’s “The Getaway EP” established the band’s momentum, and 2015’s “Patience” solidified them as one of New England’s premiere Reggae acts, opening for such groups as Badfish, New Kingston, The Movement, Bim Skala Bim, and Roots of Creation. Filled out by Tom Menzie (Guitar/Vocals), Sam Yawdik (Drums/Vocals), and Adam Vinciguerra (Percussion, Vocals), Roots Rhythm & Dub has created one of the freshest forms of Reggae around. The momentum continues on their new record, “Weather The Storm”, released in November 2017.
